The main reason anyone chooses to stay at Hotel V Star is its proximity to the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Complex-about a 10-to-15-minute walk, or barely two minutes by auto-rickshaw. For most pilgrims, walking becomes very much a part of their entire experience. Approaching the temple complex, the streets have turned into a riotous and chaotic market scene filled with color. One has to pass rows upon never-ending rows of stalls selling fresh flowers (roses and marigolds), garlands, coconuts, and sweets ("pedas") offered as prasad that permeate the air with incense together with bhajans playing from shop speakers.
Besides the main Samadhi Mandir, Dwarkamai is easily accessible on foot within the temple premises. This was the mosque in which Sai Baba spent a major part of his life. Just adjacent is Chavadi, another important historical structure wherein Baba used to sleep on alternate nights. A little walk from there will take one to Lendi Baug-the garden that Sai Baba tended every day; it happens to be a green and peaceful oasis inside this very complex where "Nanda Deep"(eternal lamp) has been kept burning since his time.
Apart from the religious destinations, immediate neighborhood practical amenities both to the temple and hotel, there are dozens of small restaurants serving vegetarian food only 'Bhojanalayas' offering cheap thalis platters of Maharashtrian, Gujarati and South Indian foods. A short walk from the temple area brings one surprisingly close to Wet N Joy Water Park ;a favorite among family members as a place for cooling down after some serious prayers have been completed allowing children play .Though there is trafficand crowd between hotelandtemple;routeis safe which means never being far from spiritual heartof town.
